Bill was the first to help when our barn roof came down in the storm. A true neighbour. With love to Mary.

Home / Funeral notices / William “Bill” Treloar
Example notice, fictional personAged 89, of Higher Fernhallow Farm. Died 29 October 2026.
Bill died peacefully at home on 29 October 2026, aged 89, in the farmhouse where he was born. Husband of Mary for sixty-two years, father of Jenny and Robert, grandad to five and great-grandad to two.
Garden flowers welcome. Donations, if you wish, to Wend Valley Air Ambulance.
Dad farmed Higher Fernhallow for seventy years, first with his father and then with Robert. He knew every field by name, and every hedge, and most of the birds that nested in them.
He rang the bells at St Edith’s for over fifty years and never missed a practice night unless there was a cow calving. He judged the vegetables at the summer show and was famously hard to please.
Most of all he loved Mum, his family and this valley. We will carry him to the church on the farm trailer, as he asked, and we would love you to walk with us.

The tower will be very quiet without him. We will ring for him on the day.
